Baskets and Blooms

Since New Year we have been frantically potting seedlings of all your favourite bedding plants and the earliest varieties are ready now - things like mimulus and pansies..

Doreen is stationed for hours at a time creating her wonderful hanging baskets. Like an horticultural Rick Wakeman she uses the plug plants at her workstation to make floral music.

The tiny plants are 'pricked out' from their trays into bedding packs with a very high-tech machine. When it's working well it's output has to be seen to be believed - it does need watching though, once it goes wrong it can make a mess pretty quickly!
